Curtains collect dust quietly for years. They hang in front of windows catching whatever comes in, and because the change happens slowly most people only notice when a curtain is taken down and the folds show a different shade to the face.
We clean curtains while they are still hanging. There is no taking them down, no measuring and rehanging, and no risk of them coming back from a dry cleaner two inches shorter than they went. You keep your curtains, and your window is not left bare for a week.

How We Do It
Fabric and fitting check
We check the fabric, the lining and how the curtains are hung. Heavy interlined curtains, voiles and blackout linings each need a different approach.
Dust removal
Dust is drawn out of the fabric first, working from the top down. Most of what makes a curtain look tired is dry dust, and a good deal of it comes out at this stage.
Targeted treatment
Marks, hem soiling and general discolouration are treated where they are, with solution matched to the fabric.
On-site clean
The fabric is cleaned in place using a method that controls moisture tightly, so the curtain does not take on weight or pull on the track.
Finish
We check the drape and folds and leave the curtains hanging as they were.
Worth Knowing Before You Book
- On-site cleaning is not the same as a full wet wash. It removes dust, freshens the fabric and lifts general soiling, but a curtain with heavy staining throughout may need specialist wet cleaning instead.
- Very old or sun-damaged fabric can be fragile. Sunlight rots fibres along the leading edge, and cleaning can reveal that weakness.
- We will tell you before starting if we think your curtains will not respond well.
Curtain Cleaning — Common Questions
No. Shrinkage happens when curtains are washed or wet cleaned off the pole. Cleaning them in place with controlled moisture avoids that risk, which is the main reason people choose it.
No. Everything is done with the curtains hanging. Your windows are never left bare.
Usually one to three hours. Because far less moisture is used than a wash, drying is quick.
Voiles and fabric or vertical blinds, yes. Wooden and metal venetian blinds are a different job and we do not clean those.
